About the role

Head of Facilities Operations, North Asia overseeing campus and multi-site facilities services in Japan and South Korea, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective facilities management and customer service for Apple.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and accountability for all Places Operations activities within North Asia, encompassing offices in Japan and South Korea.
  • Partnering with Apple LOB, Places and their nominated internal/external vendors/partners
  • Portfolio management & space planning
  • Hands-on provision of comprehensive Facilities soft & hard services
  • Driving service excellence of appointed IFM contract partner, ensuring vendors compliance with agreed KPIs, SLAs and important metrics
  • Input to in-GEO OPEX planning and budgets
  • Manage Places commercial obligations e.g. Lease, Utility & Vendor payments
  • Promote consistency in site services and resources aligned to Places best-practice
  • Manage single to multiple, simple to complex, facility initiatives and programmes
  • Adherence to the use of established protocols, tools & processes strong compliance
  • Participate alone, or in team, for facility strategy presentations to Places customers
  • Support development of tools, standards, policies, guidelines and processes related to NA operations
  • Advising and driving improvement changes in Places

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in Facility Management within a multi-national environment, including experience with Integrated Facility Management (IFM) contracts and an understanding of both large and small sites
  • Strong contract negotiation and structuring experience, plus strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Vendor management and performance measurement skills, with strong process orientation, individual accountability and area-specific execution skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels, with the ability to evangelise, communicate and collaborate well (CRM)
  • Ability to connect and lead dispersed internal/external teams, as a self-starter and capable individual or team contributor
  • Experience leading complex Change Management an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written English, and fluency in verbal and written Japanese
  • Passionate about customer service and end-user experience, with a professional manner and presentation
  • Highly motivated self-starter who is committed to providing best-in-class IFM services
  • Knowledge of office design, construction and project management, including MEP design, technical terms and the latest design practices
  • Advanced skills in project planning, execution and management processes, with an understanding of EH&S standard methodology
  • Relevant Facility Management software knowledge an advantage, e.g. TRIRIGA, Tableau, Visio
  • Ability to travel throughout North Asia as required, and to join global Places team calls that may take place late at night or early in the morning
