iPhone System HW Validation Engineer

About the role

Hardware Validation Engineer responsible for planning, executing, and tracking electrical validation from first prototype through launch, leading the CM HW validation team, coordinating with US Validation Engineers and Hardware Leads, and driving system characterization (SI/PI) and risk mitigation to deliver high-quality iPhone hardware.

Responsibilities

  • System characterization planning and execution
  • Identify SI/PI issues from board level and system level and drive for solutions
  • Lead a CM HW validation team on the ground and review their deliveries daily
  • Communicate validation progress/status with US Validation Engineers and Hardware Leads to prioritize project tasks and identify and mitigate technical risks
  • Build relationships with multi-functional development teams in the US and China in order to integrate their feedback into the daily validation tasks
  • Invent and implement creative improvements on validation tools and process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Be familiar with oscilloscopes and probes, understand the best practices in test setup, signal measurement and the reason behind
  • Experienced with I2C, SPI, MIPI, PCIE, DP or similar interfaces, as is experienced with DC-DC power electronics
  • Proven interest in both hands on validation and interpersonal communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin
  • 2+ years of working experience in consumer electronics industry
  • Strong electrical/system engineering fundamentals, preferably with experience working on computer, mobile phone or other embedded systems
  • Quick learning capability in a fast-paced environment
  • Real passion for shipping high volume and high quality products
  • Programming capability using Python, C, Lua, Matlab, etc is a big plus
