About the role

Genius at Apple Retail combines extensive technical troubleshooting with the ability to inspire excitement for Apple’s products and services. The role focuses on educating customers about repair options, performing repairs, delivering exceptional service, mentoring team members, and contributing to an inclusive, high-standard service environment in the store.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and resolve service concerns for Apple hardware and software.
  • Provide excellent service by understanding customer needs, identifying ownership opportunities, presenting product/service recommendations, and educating customers on relevant purchasing options.
  • Repair Apple products serviced in the store and stay up to date on Genius Bar repair processes and procedures.
  • Mentor, resource, and positive role model for Genius Bar team members; support leadership in resolving customer escalations.
  • Identify recurring repair problems and share feedback with Apple; educate others on the team.
  • Contribute to an inclusive environment and demonstrate Apple’s values of inclusion and diversity.
  • Support customer-facing activities on or off the sales floor as needed.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and partners to achieve team goals and share knowledge and insights.
  • Handle, lift, and move merchandise safely.

Qualifications

  • Experience in retail or sales, or related work experience.
  • Visual inspection and fine motor skills to safely perform hardware repairs.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a customer service environment.
