About the role

Privacy Counsel at Apple provides legal support on privacy topics for Apple’s products and services, collaborating with legal, engineering, and business teams to design privacy solutions across global products and regulatory matters. The role is part of the Privacy Legal team focusing on product counseling related to Siri and AI efforts and works with privacy policy colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of general privacy laws, regulations, requirements and industry best practices.
  • Advising the business on legal, regulatory, and business standards.
  • Supporting and monitoring a privacy program, as needed, to ensure that technology and business processes meet applicable legal requirements.
  • Coordinating internal and external investigations, compliance reviews and monitoring activities.
  • Identifying and communicating potential risks areas with leadership.
  • Staying informed of and properly communicating any changes to or developments in privacy laws, regulations, standards, and guidance.
  • Experience providing strategic and practical advice to product, business, and engineering teams.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating privacy related contracts.
  • Experience advising on regulatory compliance and inquiries.
  • Ability to lead, take action, and provide direction in the face of ambiguity.
  • Ability to get results in diverse, fast paced environments.
  • Ability to partner at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • In-house experience.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of privacy experience as an associate at a premier law firm or business.
  • JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.
