About the role

Simulation and Control Systems Design Engineer to contribute to development of new thermal control algorithms, focusing on System Identification, learning techniques, and modeling/simulation of power, performance, and thermal characteristics in Apple products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement thermal control algorithms
  • Develop System Identification techniques to model power/performance/thermal characteristics
  • Model and simulate behavior of products under various operating conditions
  • Collaborate within Platform Architecture group to advance control systems in embedded environments
  • Contribute to software engineering workflows (git, code review) and documentation

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar degree
  • Experience implementing Control Systems in Embedded Microcontroller environments
  • Experience with Python and Matlab
  • 3+ years relevant industry experience
  • M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with emphasis in control systems or robotics (preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of System Identification, Estimation Theory, Classical and Modern Control Systems Theory, and Statistical Learning Algorithms
  • Proficiency in C++
  • Experience with software engineering workflows (git, code review)
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written/presentational skills
