About the role

The HW Design Engineer, Wireless will design, validate and optimize baseband hardware circuits and systems for Apple products, collaborating across RD and manufacturing sites in China from prototype to mass production. Requires cross-functional coordination with EE, FW, AP, RF, and production test teams, with international and domestic travel likely.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, validate and optimize baseband hardware circuits and systems for Apple products from first prototype build to mass production
  • Collaborate across RD departments and Manufacturing sites in China
  • Implement validation plans for digital interfaces such as I2C, PCIe, SPMI, RFFE and power rails (Buck, LDO)
  • Debug and troubleshoot baseband hardware and interfaces
  • Engage in cross-functional cooperation with other engineering groups such as EE, FW, AP, RF, production test
  • Travel internationally and domestically as required
  • Support manufacturing with design-for-manufacturing considerations
  • Assist with verification/validation activities at manufacturing sites

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master degree in electrical engineering related majors
  • 5+ years for Bachelor or 3+ years for Master of relevant industry experience
  • Strong EE fundamentals including board design process, schematic/PCB development tools, electrical components selection, power/clock management and signal integrity knowledge of high/low speed digital interfaces (PCIe, RFFE, SPMI, I2C)
  • Proficient in test and debug of digital and analog circuitry
  • Hands-on experience using test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzer)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin
  • Well organized with flexibility in a changing work environment
  • Experience working with manufacturing is an advantage
  • Knowledge/Experience of wireless communication systems (WiFi, BT, NFC, UWB) is a plus
  • AI/ML experience is a plus
