About the role

HW Design Engineer, Wireless focused on baseband hardware for next‑generation iPhone and other Apple products. Works with manufacturing sites in China, collaborating across RD and Manufacturing to design, validate, and optimize baseband hardware circuits and systems from prototype to mass production. Traveling internationally/domestically is likely.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, validate and optimize baseband hardware circuits and systems for Apple products from first prototype build to mass production.
  • Collaborate across RD departments and Manufacturing sites to ensure robust hardware design and validation.
  • Implement validation plans for digital interfaces (I2C, PCIe, SPMI, RFFE) and power rails (Buck, LDO).
  • Debug and troubleshoot baseband hardware and interfaces.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with other engineering groups such as FW, AP, RF, production test, etc.
  • Travel as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master degree in electrical engineering or related majors
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience for Bachelor or 3+ years for Master
  • Strong EE fundamentals: board design process, schematic/PCB development, electrical components selection, power/clock management, signal integrity for high/low speed digital interfaces (PCIe, RFFE, SPMI, I2C)
  • Proficiency in test and debug of digital and analog circuitry
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzer)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin
  • Organized and flexible in a changing work environment
  • Experience working with manufacturing is an advantage
  • Knowledge/experience of wireless systems (WiFi, BT, NFC, UWB) desirable
  • AI/ML experience is a plus
