About the role

Member of the Music Data Engineering team at Apple Music focused on building data processing pipelines and services to power customer features. Design and implement scalable data systems and services to model, ingest, compute, and serve large-scale data with high throughput and reliability. Collaborate across engineering, research, product, and business teams to deliver data-driven experiences for Apple Music.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement features that rely on processing and serving very large datasets, with awareness of scalability, high-throughput, and reliability.
  • Create systems to model, ingest, process and compute large-scale, mission-critical data across Apple Music.
  • Engineer innovative solutions in a hands-on development role and provide technical guidance and best practices.
  • Interact with other groups on an ongoing basis, communicating effectively on technical and non-technical levels.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Experience in at least one of the following: Spark, Kafka and Web Services
  • Significant experience in designing, implementing and supporting highly scalable data systems and services in Java and/or Scala
  • Bachelor’s/Equivalents in Computer Science or related discipline
