About the role

8-month applied research internship for MScAC students at the University of Toronto, starting May 2027, hybrid schedule in Toronto. Projects spanning audio, video, vision, ML systems, and conversational agents, with mentorship from Boson AI researchers and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Join one of the research projects listed and work with a Boson AI mentor on problems feeding into models and products.
  • Contribute to data pipelines, evaluation, model training, and system optimization as applicable to your project area.
  • Engage in experiments, scripting, and handling large datasets; design benchmarks and metrics; implement and iterate on research findings.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in the MScAC program at the University of Toronto (mandatory).
  • Strong programming skills in Python; + C++, CUDA or Triton for systems projects.
  • Solid foundations in machine learning/deep learning; hands-on experience with PyTorch or JAX.
  • Careful experimental practice: design experiments, measure what matters, report results honestly.
  • Available for the full 8-month internship and able to work from the Toronto office on a hybrid schedule.

Benefits

  • Compensation: CAD 70,000–100,000 for the 8-month term.
