About the role
Spur is seeking a Founding Designer in New York City to define how testing feels with AI-driven workflows. The role focuses on end-to-end product design, creating Spur’s visual identity and design system, and shaping complex, technical user experiences for both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. This is an in-person, early-stage role with potential for team growth and public design leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end product design, from early ideation through polished, shipped experiences
- Create Spur’s visual identity—brand, design system, and style guidelines
- Design entirely new user workflows that make complex systems feel fast, intuitive, and powerful
- Drive a culture of craft, where design quality and attention to detail are valued across the company
- Work closely with engineering and product to shape the roadmap through a design lens
- Help define our voice and presence across marketing and how Spur shows up in the world
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience designing for technical or ops-heavy users
- Able to navigate ambiguity and bring structure where none exists
- Comfortable shipping complex, high-quality products
- Own initiative, fast-moving, high attention to craft and polish
