About the role

Apten is hiring a second full stack software engineer to join the founding team and build core product experiences and infrastructure spanning frontend, backend, and infra for omnichannel AI agents.

Responsibilities

  • Own and ship core features — from React frontends to AWS-based APIs, Lambdas, and microservices
  • Work directly with enterprises to build AI agents, and the data flywheels needed to give them proper context
  • Build scalable infra for messaging, AI inference, and automation at high volume
  • Experimental work - turn Apten into a self-improving, high-performance sales/marketing agent. 100% ownership, 0 bureaucracy

Qualifications

  • Curiosity and drive to figure things out — whether debugging a scaling issue or building something completely new
  • Experience building and shipping production software (or equivalent skill) - personal projects are OK
  • Experience with TypeScript, React, and AWS (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, SQS, CDK, etc.)
  • Strong product sense — able to make pragmatic tradeoffs, prioritize for impact, and ship fast
  • Comfortable working across the stack (frontend → backend → infra)
  • Previous startup or early-stage experience a plus
