About the role

Research Scientist role focused on developing innovative machine learning techniques, advancing the team’s research agenda, and collaborating across OpenAI to discover simple, generalizable ideas that scale and align with the company’s broader research vision.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative machine learning techniques and advance the research agenda of the team
  • Collaborate with peers across the organization
  • Own and pursue a research agenda, including choosing impactful research problems and autonomously carrying out long-running projects
  • Contribute to OpenAI’s research approach and goals

Qualifications

  • Track record of generating new ideas or improving existing ideas in machine learning (e.g., first author publications or notable projects)
  • Ability to own and pursue a research agenda with autonomy over long-running projects
  • enthusiasm for OpenAI’s approach to research

Required:Idea generation in MLProject ownership
