About the role

We’re seeking a Software Engineer with experience building data pipelines and collaborating with the Legal team to architect, design, and implement backend systems handling sensitive user data, focusing on privacy and legal compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain back-end systems and services that power privacy and data compliance functions within our API products and consumer applications.
  • Work closely with legal advisors and other engineers to respond to court orders and other legal processes, upholding strict data privacy and legal standards.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and build tools that enable other teams to automate tasks involving customer data.
  • Develop and implement data handling policies and procedures in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of user data.

Qualifications

  • Experience building data pipelines, especially for legal processes and investigative workflows.
  • Ability to translate legal requirements into technical solutions and explain technical solutions to a non-technical audience.
  • Takes responsibility end-to-end and is willing to acquire missing knowledge as needed.
  • Creates tools to accelerate own and colleagues’ workflows, especially where pre-existing solutions are inadequate.
  • Deep care for user experience and pride in building products that meet customer needs while ensuring privacy.
  • Background in security investigations or experience working with trust and safety, legal, and engineering teams.
