About the role

Senior Backend Engineer position at Zencastr with remote-friendly setup, focusing on scalable, high-performance backend systems and APIs written in Node.js/Typescript.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code (unit/integration/load testing)
  • Collaborate with a distributed team to deliver fast, reliable products
  • Contribute to code quality, security, and best practices in engineering and design
  • Work on performance optimizations (e.g., database sharding, efficient APIs)
  • Engage in DevOps and cloud-related tasks as needed to support services

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Typescript, Node.js development
  • Strong knowledge of Redis, MongoDB and SQL
  • Experience building scalable consumer-based applications
  • Experience with unit, integration, and load testing
  • Experience building APIs
  • Experience with cloud APIs (Google Cloud, Digital Ocean)
