About the role

Lead and manage medicinal chemistry activities for multiple projects, focusing on optimizing leads and clinical candidates, while mentoring a team of chemists and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead medicinal chemistry activities for two or more projects in parallel.
  • Identify pre-leads, design, and optimize leads for potency, selectivity, and druggability.
  • Generate strong IP related to medicinal chemistry.
  • Recruit and mentor PhD and M.Sc. synthetic chemists.
  • Collaborate with peers in Medicinal Chemistry and other departments like ADME, Analytical Sciences, and Pharmacology.
  • Deliver high-value molecules to the clinical pipeline.
  • Develop flow schemes with relevant in vitro, in vivo, ADME/PK, and toxicity studies.
  • Allocate resources effectively for cost efficiency.
  • Present project updates at Enveda forums.
  • Emphasize safe practices in the chemistry laboratories.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Synthetic Organic Chemistry.
  • 15-20 years of post-PhD experience in Medicinal Chemistry.
  • Proven track record of delivering leads and clinical candidates.
  • Management and mentoring experience with synthetic chemists.
  • Strong understanding of IP related to medicinal compounds.
  • Knowledge of safety practices in organic synthesis laboratories.
