About the role

Senior full stack engineer responsible for owning and building new product lines (input tax, withholding tax, e-invoicing, tariffs) and mission-critical components of Sphere's platform (filing infrastructure, tax engine, AI/agent features) to scale the business and grow ARR.

Responsibilities

  • Ship mission critical features that clients will use daily - e.g. filing infrastructure
  • Own and manage a feature and drive measurable outcomes
  • Work directly with customers to improve/optimize key components of the platform (e.g. improve filing generation and submission speed)
  • Own the end-to-end development of new product lines that will help build out the AI-native revenue-based compliance platform
  • Lead / mentor additional engineers in component areas
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure 100% uptime and robust, scalable solutions

Qualifications

  • Experience in Python. Core backend and data pipeline services are built with Python and Django
  • Frontend/React experience is a plus and willingness to dive in when needed
  • Very strong attention to detail, especially with numbers
