About the role

Lunch Assistants help ensure safe and effective cafeteria and recess operations, build relationships with students during meal times and recess, carry out school lunch procedures, and support school staff with lunch operations as needed. Cafeteria-only assistants will not support recess.

Responsibilities

  • Wipe & clean tables between meal services
  • Assist students with food trays
  • Provide punctual, reliable, and respectful service to your assigned school
  • Occasionally supervise students independent of other school administrators
  • Interact with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform manual tasks & follow instructions
  • Previous experience working with students in a school setting
