Responsibilities

  • Maintain attendance and personnel files for building community

  • Utilize customer service skills when communicating with school visitors, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Schedule meetings as needed for building leaders
  • Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent that includes, or has been supplemented by, secretarial, business or commercial courses
  • Considerable knowledge of modern office practices, filing systems, equipment/computers, and procedures
  • Knowledge of correct English usage, punctuation, and spelling; organization, punctuation, and composition of business letters, minutes, report, charts, and numerical/tabular materials
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic
  • Capable of using diplomacy, discretion, and judgment in giving out information and referring callers
  • Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM; pass secretarial skills test
  • Previous secretarial experience preferred
  • Professional phone etiquette
