About the role
Experienced RVT wanted for Admirals Walk Pet Hospital in Victoria, BC. Full-time or part-time, on-site. Emergency/urgent care experience valued; collaborative team environment with DVMs, RVTs, and support staff.
Responsibilities
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members using oral and written communication
- Administer and analyze diagnostic tests (hematology, clinical chemistry, cytology, urinalysis, etc.)
- Assist Veterinarian with surgical and therapeutic procedures; maintain aseptic OR standards
- Administer and monitor anesthesia and analgesia within scope and provincial laws
- Provide veterinary nursing care including Fear Free techniques within regulatory scope
- Document and maintain accurate veterinary medical records
- Operate and maintain veterinary equipment following health and safety regulations
- Execute and evaluate quality diagnostic images
- Perform dental procedures following industry standards
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Support a collaborative work environment and assist other staff as required
Qualifications
- Diploma - Veterinary Technician/Technologist
