About the role
Enthusiastic RVT position in Cranbrook, BC within a supportive, mentorship-friendly, team-based companion animal practice. Full-time or part-time on-site with relocation assistance available for RVTs from across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Communicate in a compassionate and professional manner with clients and team members; maintain efficient oral and written communication.
- Administer and analyze diagnostic tests (hematology, clinical chemistry, cytology, urinalysis, etc.).
- Assist Veterinarian with surgical and therapeutic procedures; maintain aseptic standards in the operating room.
- Administer and monitor anesthesia and analgesia in compliance with scope of practice and provincial regulations.
- Provide nursing care using veterinary theory and Fear Free techniques within regulatory guidelines.
- Document and maintain accurate veterinary medical records.
- Operate and maintain veterinary equipment following health and safety regulations.
- Execute and evaluate quality diagnostic imaging.
- Perform dental procedures in line with industry standards and knowledge of dental anatomy and disease stages.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies according to office procedures.
- Support a collaborative work environment and assist other staff as required.
