About the role
Part-time or full-time RVT position available in Downtown Victoria, BC. No on-call responsibilities. Well-equipped hospital with in-house lab, digital and dental radiography, and ultrasound. Emphasis on supportive culture, professional growth, and applying Fear Free techniques.
Responsibilities
- Communicate in a compassionate and professional manner with clients and fellow team members
- Administer and analyze diagnostic tests (hematology, clinical chemistry, cytology, urinalysis, etc.) using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Assist Veterinarian with surgical and therapeutic procedures with aseptic standards
- Administer and monitor anesthesia and analgesia per scope of practice and provincial laws
- Provide excellent veterinary nursing care within regulatory guidelines and Fear Free principles
- Document and maintain accurate veterinary medical records
- Operate and maintain veterinary equipment following health and safety regulations
- Execute and evaluate quality diagnostic images
- Perform dental procedures per industry standards
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Maintain a collaborative work environment and assist other staff as required
Qualifications
- Diploma - Veterinary Technician/Technologist
