About the role
RVT position at WestCoast Veterinary Services in Stephenville, Newfoundland. Full-time or part-time, on-site. Opportunity to provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventative care in a collaborative, mentorship-focused team.
Responsibilities
- Communicate compassionately with clients and team members using effective oral and written communication.
- Administer and analyze diagnostic tests (hematology, clinical chemistry, cytology, urinalysis, etc.).
- Assist Veterinarian with surgical and therapeutic procedures; maintain aseptic operating room standards.
- Administer and monitor anesthesia and analgesia in accordance with scope of practice and provincial laws.
- Provide veterinary nursing care within professional and ethical guidelines, utilizing Fear Free techniques.
- Document and maintain accurate veterinary medical records following regulated procedures.
- Operate and maintain veterinary equipment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Execute and evaluate quality diagnostic images.
- Perform dental procedures per industry standards with in-depth dental knowledge.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies according to office procedures.
- Support a collaborative work environment and assist other staff as required.
