About the role
AI researcher role at Hume AI focused on building state-of-the-art speech-language models (SLMs) with a new RLHE training method, contributing to scalable training, inference, benchmarking, and large-scale data processing.
Responsibilities
- Build out software systems that support distributed model training, inference, and benchmarking
- Manage massive-scale data collection, storage, preprocessing, and analysis
- Solve AI research problems at industry scale in audio, text, image, and/or video domains
- Contribute to training and/or fine-tuning of large-scale models
- Work on evaluation tools and software infrastructure to support research and production needs
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a research role in industry or equivalent track record of contributions to open source models in language, audio, or video
- PhD not required nor sufficient
- Expertise in the Python ecosystem and popular ML libraries/tools (e.g. PyTorch)
- Experience writing robust, maintainable production-ready code
- Comfort iterating quickly on new and uncertain research directions
- 2+ years of experience contributing to training and/or fine-tuning of models with large-scale datasets of text, audio, image, and/or video data (predictive or generative)
