About the role

Fullstack Engineer responsible for designing and building core platform systems to enable data collection, labeling, and evaluation for frontier AI models. Owns product design decisions to backend architecture, collaborating with product, research, and operations to deliver fast, reliable, and scalable tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build core systems powering Surge’s platform (tools and interfaces for shaping frontier AI models).
  • Work across the stack to make data collection, labeling, and evaluation seamless and scalable.
  • Own product design decisions to backend architecture and system design.
  • Partner with product, research, and operations to create fast, reliable, and delightful tools for safer and smarter model training.

Qualifications

  • Experience building and maintaining fullstack applications using React/TypeScript and Python or Ruby on Rails.
  • Care about performance, usability, maintainability; design simple, scalable, and resilient systems.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts clearly, work cross-functionally, bias for shipping.
  • Ownership from idea to production; iterate quickly; write durable code.
