About the role

ERG is seeking a Landscaper/Facility Maintenance Technician to support grounds and facilities maintenance projects, ensuring a safe, clean, and operational environment at NSF Indian Head and the Stump Neck Annex. The role involves groundskeeping, snow removal, and light facilities maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform groundskeeping duties, including mowing, edge trimming, weed whacking, and debris removal
  • Conduct snow removal operations, including shoveling, salting, and operating snow removal equipment
  • Perform light chainsaw and debris removal work from the ground level
  • Assist with facilities maintenance projects such as painting, minor renovation, and light repair
  • Respond to groundskeeping and facilities maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Comply with safety regulations and building codes
  • Assist with emergency repairs and respond to urgent situations as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of experience with landscaping equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, snow blowers)
  • Familiarity with state and local building codes, OSHA regulations, and NFPA standards is a plus
  • Experience operating vehicles and moving equipment such as cars, trucks, trailers, and containers
  • Willingness to learn forklift and mobile elevated work platform operation (training will be provided)
  • Basic trades experience in carpentry, flooring, drywall, painting, roofing, concrete/masonry, electrical, or plumbing
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must possess valid U.S. work authorization and a valid REAL ID Driver's License
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical exam and participate in a medical surveillance program
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drugs tests
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Work may involve exposure to potentially harmful physical and chemical agents
  • May be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and reach
  • Must be able to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items
  • Must be able to safely climb and descend ladders, stairways, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms; work at heights up to and exceeding 30 feet
  • Must be able to perform work above shoulder level
