About the role

Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a Bangalore-based team responsible for the design, development, and operation of scalable, high-performance microservices, data stores, and cloud infrastructure in Menlo Security’s Secure Application Access platform.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employees located in Bangalore and provide technical leadership to the team
  • Guide architecture, design, development, deployment, and monitoring of core microservices, data stores, and cloud infrastructure
  • Foster a strong design and code review culture
  • Contribute to highly scalable distributed systems, networking, and cybersecurity initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance, perform code reviews, and diagnose complex distributed system issues
  • Lead and mentor high-performing software development teams, including performance reviews and talent development
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders through strong communication

Qualifications

  • BE/BTech or Masters in Computer Science with 8 - 12 years of hands on Software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience in leading and building high-performing engineering teams, including hands-on management
  • Deep expertise in one or more core backend languages, specifically Golang and/or NodeJS
  • Experience with Python is a plus
  • Proven experience in designing and building scalable, resilient microservices architectures
  • Strong knowledge of NoSQL database technologies with experience using Spanner, DynamoDB, or GKE exposure for data persistence
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Experience with major cloud providers, specifically GCP or AWS
  • Strong background in Networking (TCP/IP, HTTP) and Cybersecurity is an advantage
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing distributed system issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, ambitious, with the ability to learn new technologies and evolve team practices
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
