About the role

Growth Marketer responsible for leading Surge's recruitment pipeline growth, acquisition, activation, and lifecycle marketing to bring high-quality contributors to the Surge platform. Cross-functional role partnering with Marketing, Product, Ops, and Execs.

Responsibilities

  • Build scalable acquisition frameworks focused on attracting expert-level contributors (professionals, writers, coders, specialized researchers) with defined growth roadmap, targets, and budget.
  • Lead high-touch recruitment marketing strategies to engage and convert top-tier talent, and to inform automated pipelines.
  • Ignite and scale partnerships across the professional world—writers, ad platforms, academia, research labs, and scholarly communities—to accelerate contributor pipeline growth.
  • Design and optimize full-funnel journeys across acquisition, onboarding, retention, and reactivation; implement rigorous experimentation for areas of improvement.
  • Balance growth with contributor quality by embedding rigorous benchmarks and evaluation criteria without slowing down recruitment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated repeat success in performance marketing with expertise in high-volume targeting and personalized 1:1 outreach for high-value or niche audiences.
  • Proven track record of managing large budgets across multiple advertising channels, tailoring strategies for specialized segments.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset for decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Independent operator who leans into proactive ownership, adapts to ambiguity, thrives in high-growth environments.
  • Commitment to making the next generation of AI models safer and more useful.
