About the role

Technical Program Manager responsible for the operational health, reliability, and cross-team platform investments of Anthropic's Safeguards Infrastructure and evaluation platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Safeguards Engineering ops review - Drive the recurring cadence that keeps the team informed and coordinated: surfacing recent incidents and failures, bringing visibility to reliability trends, and making sure the right people are in the room when decisions need to be made.
  • Drive incident tracking and post-mortem execution - Track incidents across the organization, ensure post-mortems are written, and ensure action items are completed and closed.
  • Establish and maintain SLOs with partner teams - Define service-level objectives for safety-critical pipelines and build tracking/reporting to measure and surface results.
  • Maintain runbook quality and incident-ownership clarity - Keep runbooks accurate and ensure unambiguous ownership during incidents.
  • Drive platform migrations and infrastructure projects - Manage program for infrastructure migrations and related cross-team initiatives, keeping work sequenced and on track.
  • Coordinate evals platform improvements - Collaborate with the evals engineering team to improve the evaluation platform and ensure it scales with team needs.

Qualifications

  • Solid technical program management experience in operational or infrastructure-heavy environments
  • Ability to understand production ML systems sufficiently to triage incidents and discuss with engineers
  • Comfort with closing loops on post-mortems, SLOs, and runbooks
  • Experience working across team boundaries and coordinating with partner teams via influence and clear communication
  • Ability to balance keeping the lights on with building new platform capabilities
  • Interest in AI safety and understanding of reliability distinctions between safety-critical pipelines and product features
