About the role

Forward Deployed Data Engineer role at Vori, a modern operating system for supermarkets. You will bridge customer systems with the Vori platform, configure for retailers, build data pipelines and integration systems, and work hands-on with data to enable scale from first customers to thousands of stores.

Responsibilities

  • - Understand the VoriOS system end to end and interdependencies between the system and its integration components
  • - Understanding Customer’s needs to define and configure system specifications
  • - Configure and maintain data mappings and reconciliation as an integral part of our operations team
  • - Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment and work closely with Operations, Product, Engineering teams on how to improve workflows and systems end to end

Qualifications

  • - 5+ years in Forward Deployed/Solutions/Data Engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role, ideally in B2B SaaS or fintech
  • - Hybrid skillset — strong backend/data engineering fundamentals + ability to interact directly with customer IT teams.
  • - Domain awareness — familiarity with unstructured data, ETL processes and ML/OCR pipelines.
  • - Customer empathy — comfort in troubleshooting messy, high-pressure customer environments.
  • - Bias for autonomy — capable of managing extraction, ingestion, and pipeline tuning with minimal guidance.
  • - SQL, Regex and scripting proficiency and willingness to learn new technologies.
