About the role

Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) work directly with customers to understand problems and design/implement data-driven solutions using Palantir platforms. Roles involve end-to-end execution in small teams, on-site collaboration with customers, and deployment of software to solve real-world operational challenges across industries and institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Work in small teams with minimal supervision and own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects.
  • Discuss architecture with engineers, handle massive-scale data, code custom web apps, engage with customer executives, and set team strategy.
  • Apply problem-solving, creativity, and technical skills to help organizations use data to drive real impact.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of relevant, post-college work experience
  • Strong engineering background, preferred in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel; 25 – 75% travel required (location and team vary)
  • Proficiency in both English and Japanese languages
  • Security clearance or ability to obtain clearance
