Software Engineer
About the role
Founding Software Engineer position at Tamarind Bio to help scale the computational biology platform powering drug discovery. You’ll design, build, and scale infrastructure, APIs, and web interface, owning major stack components end-to-end and collaborating closely with founders.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with founders to design, build, and scale infrastructure, APIs, and web interface
- Own major pieces of the stack end-to-end—from architecture to deployment
- Maintain and expand core systems underpinning computational biology tooling for reliability, scalability, and performance
- Work directly with users to understand needs, translate feedback into product improvements, and deliver solutions
Qualifications
- Adaptability and openness to work on diverse problems (e.g. batch HPC scaling, frontend development, automated fine-tuning)
- AWS DevOps (DynamoDB, EC2, S3, Docker, Kubernetes) and MLOps (CUDA, Conda, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Full-stack development
- Located in the SF Bay Area or able to relocate to the Bay Area

Tamarind Bio is a website and API which allows scientists to use computational biology tools at scale using a simple interface. On Tamarind, scientists can use ML models like AlphaFold to design and simulate molecules by simply selecting inputs instead of or setting up a high performance computing environment or dealing with DevOps. Our tools are used by thousands researchers in large pharma companies, top biotechs, and academic institutions.
