Founding ML Engineer
About the role
Founding ML Engineer to own research and engineering behind Crustdata's core intelligence layer. Build and ship models for multilingual, web-scale data to make data searchable, matchable, and enriched. Not an MLOps role; end-to-end ML development from paper to production.
Responsibilities
- You'll own the ML systems that turn messy, multilingual, web-scale data into structured intelligence. Examples include: returning multilingual matching results for complex queries; resolving similar company/people records across sources; inferring org charts from raw data; extracting technologies from unstructured signals; classifying job transitions; mapping raw job titles to canonical titles and seniority across languages.
Qualifications
- 3+ years building and shipping ML models in production — NLP, information retrieval, or entity resolution
- Strong with transformer architectures — trained and fine-tuned encoder models
- Experience building and evaluating retrieval systems, classifiers, and embedding models
- Comfortable with contrastive learning, metric learning, and representation learning
- Experience using LLMs for structured extraction, classification, or data generation at scale
- Strong Python and PyTorch
- Founder mentality or desire to be a founder in the future OR was a founder earlier
