About the role

Production Engineers at Meta are specialized software engineers who develop the underlying infrastructure for Meta's products and services, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability across teams and live production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own back-end services like container fleet management systems, front-end services like Chat and Newsfeed, infrastructure components like Memcache infrastructure, and everything in between
  • Write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug the hardest problems, live, on large and complex systems
  • Share an on-call rotation with the engineering team
  • Collaborate with leading engineers to deploy code and systems into production used by millions of users worldwide

Qualifications

  • Experience learning software, frameworks and APIs
  • Engineering degree, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in configuration and maintenance of applications such as web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems and messaging systems
  • Experience coding in higher-level languages (e.g. Python, Rust, PHP, C++)
