About the role

Senior Software Engineer focusing on routing backend and onboard modules to ensure efficient routing, accurate ETAs, scalable traffic management, and collaboration with product, strategy, and operations to shape roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale backend systems and onboard modules for the Routing team.
  • Design microservices, optimize routing algorithms, understand road network graphs, and build monitoring and analytics infrastructure.
  • Optimize deployment pipelines and tooling.
  • Collaborate with product, strategy, and operations to design and build new user experiences and define product strategy and roadmap.

Qualifications

  • At least 4+ years of building and scaling realtime server-side applications.
  • Experience with large-scale complex algorithm problems balancing correctness and performance.
  • Experience choosing appropriate storage technologies across relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL), non-relational (BigTable, Cassandra, Redis, etc), and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake).
  • Experience with RPC frameworks (gRPC, Thrift) and pubsub systems (Kafka, Cloud PubSub, Celery, etc).
  • Extensive experience with cloud providers (GCP, AWS, etc).
  • Experience with Docker & Kubernetes, or willingness to learn.
