About the role

Software Engineer role focused on Data Platform, Simulation, or Technical Infrastructure to support Nuro's autonomous driving software stack, including data management, simulation frameworks, and core infrastructure services.

Responsibilities

  • Data Platform focuses on data annotation across 2D/3D perception, mapping, behavior trajectory, and language/text; data ingestion and mining; heuristics and embedding search; introspection for autonomy evaluation infrastructure.
  • Simulation team builds and evolves the core simulator, sensor simulation, scenario generation, and integration of real-world data with synthetic techniques for scalable, realistic testing.
  • Technical Infrastructure group maintains fundamental services: generic compute platform for mission-critical workflows (data processing, simulation), storage management for hundreds of PB of data, cloud infrastructure as IaaC, and engineering productivity tools including build and CI/CD.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience in addition to a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Go.
  • Experience in one or more: large-scale distributed systems; data storage and processing systems; modern microservice architecture; machine learning; multithreading; x86 architecture; software performance tuning and optimization; robotics software frameworks; compute modalities (CPU, GPU, FPGA).
