About the role

Senior-level engineer building infrastructure foundations for enterprise deployments of Replit, including deployment options, private networking, authorization, and data protection to meet security and compliance requirements for large organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Build enterprise deployment infrastructure: design and implement single-tenant and dedicated deployment options for isolation guarantees.
  • Implement private networking capabilities: VPC peering, private connectivity, and static IP configurations.
  • Design authorization services: build authorization infrastructure enabling fine-grained access controls and policy enforcement.
  • Ship data protection features: BYOK encryption, customer-managed keys, and data residency controls.
  • Develop infrastructure automation: Terraform modules and automation for reliable, repeatable deployments across regions.
  • Debug and harden systems: tackle complex infrastructure issues across networking, authorization, Kubernetes, and cloud services.
  • Partner with go-to-market teams: collaborate with Sales and Customer Success to scope solutions and unblock deployments.
  • Contribute to technical strategy: define SLAs/SLOs and participate in build-vs-buy decisions.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, or similar roles.
  • Strong programming skills in Go, Typescript or Python; writing high-quality, well-tested code.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies in production environments.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking: VPCs, peering, private connectivity, load balancers, DNS.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization systems: OAuth/OIDC, RBAC/ABAC models, policy enforcement.
  • Familiarity with security and encryption fundamentals: TLS, encryption at rest, key management concepts.
  • Strong debugging skills across distributed systems.
  • Excellent written communication; ability to explain technical tradeoffs to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
