About the role

iOS engineer on Grindr's Monetization team responsible for architecting and implementing A/B tests, modernizing the iOS stack, and collaborating with backend and Android teams to evolve core product experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional, cross-timezone team to improve Grindr app for users
  • Work across multiple work streams and embrace ambiguity for high-level thinking
  • Guide data-driven decisions to adopt new technologies, architectures, and workflows via A/B testing and real-time observability
  • Elevate the team's technical proficiency and adopt new tools and ways of working
  • Develop and maintain iOS architecture using Swift, SwiftUI, MVVM, FactoryKit for dependency injection, and Swift Concurrency; evolve architecture for current and future needs to deliver innovative mobile products

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of experience building complex iOS applications
  • Strong technical background that inspires creativity and innovation
  • Experience with product leadership and technical decision-making; ability to trade off product and code considerations
  • Experience collaborating with executives and senior stakeholders (c-suite, VP level)
  • Ability to dive into code deeply and mentor team members on long-term initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and design patterns (MVVM, Coordinator, one-way data flow, modular architecture, performance optimization & metrics)
  • Experience with architecture at scale and working with multiple tech stacks beyond mobile
