About the role

Senior Manufacturing Engineer responsible for end-to-end development and production of high-performance Core Technology hardware (battery integration, actuation, energetics) for sea and air vehicle platforms, with emphasis on DFM, tooling, process optimization, MBOM/Routings, QA plans, and rigorous testing in high-reliability environments.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage NPI expertise to transition complex electromechanical systems from prototype to scalable production, optimizing for manufacturability, performance, and supply chain robustness.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering early in development to provide DFM/DFA feedback for components and integrated systems.
  • Design and develop novel tooling, jigs, and fixturing for precision assembly, alignment, and testing of Core Technology hardware.
  • Develop robust, repeatable process flows for complex assemblies (battery integration, actuation, energetics) including precision joining, component integration, system sealing/conditioning.
  • Define and implement Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) and Routings within MES and ERP systems.
  • Write comprehensive manufacturing documentation (work instructions, quality control plans, inspection requirements, environmental test procedures).
  • Design and validate robust test methodologies and equipment for performance characteristics and environmental qualification (vibration, thermal, ingress protection).
  • Work hands-on with technicians and engineers to build, troubleshoot, and validate prototype and production hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing or design engineering experience with high-reliability mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical components or systems (e.g., advanced battery packs, precision motor/gearbox assemblies, energetic devices).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex hardware solutions in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments.
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills with mentoring or guiding projects.
  • Experience setting up and optimizing manufacturing environments including MBOM creation, MES integration, and RCCA for complex hardware production.
  • Proficient with Siemens NX for CAD and Teamcenter for PLM.
  • Hands-on experience manufacturing hardware (precision machining, additive manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, battery cell integration, energetic material handling).
  • Strong interest in high-performance defense hardware and continuous technical mastery.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export-controlled information or facilities.
