About the role

Cost Value Engineer responsible for end-to-end supply chain ownership of Anduril’s Intelligence & Space hardware, including sourcing, pricing, vendor onboarding, and cross-functional collaboration to manage total BOMs and drive cost optimization across NPI and production.

Responsibilities

  • Deep dive into engineering BOM with engineering to ensure sourceability and procurement feasibility at target cost
  • Conduct supplier selection using approved list and onboard unique vendors to support Space & Intelligence
  • Drive on-time delivery and find innovative solutions to reduce traditional Space industry lead-times and constraints
  • Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development (concept scoping, trade-off analysis, should-cost/clean-sheet models, joint design development with clear statements of work, simulation of mechanical & electronics designs)
  • Develop and consolidate manufacturing BOMs with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to ramp production with high flexibility
  • Manage total program cost including NPI and mass production
  • Conduct value-stream mapping to optimize lead times and flexibility of the supply network
  • Complete BOM risk assessments including alternate sourcing
  • Ensure component qualifications are completed ahead of production
  • Reduce complexity via commonality optimization and supplier/component rationalization
  • Lead cost engineering activities to converge bottoms-up cost to product cost and maximize total cost of ownership across lifecycle
  • Manage ad-hoc cost issues (tariffs, import/export costs, cost inflation)
  • Manage supply issues to ensure on-time delivery at or below target cost

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices
  • Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at component and product level
  • Active U.S. Secret or TS clearance and ability to maintain clearance
  • Ability to travel 10% - 40% of the time, variable based on program needs
  • Ability to relocate if not local to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA
