About the role

Procurement Engineer responsible for end-to-end supply chain management of hardware for Intelligence Systems & Space programs, including supplier onboarding, sourcing, pricing, and total BOM cost optimization across NPI and production, with active U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Deep dive into engineering BOM to ensure sourceable parts within target costs
  • Conduct supplier selection and onboarding for Space & Intelligence needs
  • Drive on-time delivery by leveraging innovative solutions to conventional Space lead-times
  • Collaborate with strategic suppliers on development activities (concept scoping, trade-off analyses, should-cost models, joint design development, SOWs, design simulations)
  • Develop and consolidate manufacturing BOMs with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to ramp production
  • Manage total program cost across NPI and mass production
  • Perform value-stream mapping to optimize lead times and flexibility
  • Complete BOM risk assessments with alternate sourcing
  • Ensure component qualifications are completed prior to production
  • Reduce complexity via commonality optimization and supplier rationalization
  • Lead cost engineering to converge bottoms-up costs to product cost and maximize Total Cost of Ownership
  • Manage ad-hoc cost issues (tariffs, import/export costs, cost inflation) and resolve supply issues to meet delivery targets at or below target cost

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices
  • Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at component/product level
  • Active U.S. Secret or TS clearance and ability to maintain clearance
  • Ability to travel 10% - 40% of the time
  • Ability to relocate to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA
