About the role

Senior Cost Value Engineer responsible for end-to-end supply chain management, sourcing, and cost optimization for Anduril’s Intelligence & Space product line, including BOM ownership, supplier onboarding, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, quality, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Deep dive into engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure parts can be sourced/procured at reasonable target levels
  • Conduct supplier selection and onboarding for Space & Intelligence product needs
  • Drive on-time delivery and mitigate supply constraints with innovative solutions
  • Collaborate with strategic suppliers on concept scoping, requirements solidification, trade-off analyses, should-cost/clean-sheet models, joint design development with clear statements of work, and simulation of mechanical/electronics designs
  • Develop and consolidate manufacturing BOMs with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to ramp production with high flexibility
  • Manage total cost of the program (NPI & mass production) throughout NPI
  • Perform value-stream mapping to optimize lead times and flexibility
  • Complete BOM risk assessments including alternate sourcing
  • Ensure component qualifications are completed ahead of production
  • Reduce complexity via commonality optimization and supplier/component rationalization
  • Lead cost engineering activities to converge bottom-up cost to product cost and maximize total cost of ownership
  • Manage ad-hoc cost issues (tariffs, import/export costs, cost inflation) and supply issues to ensure on-time delivery at/below target cost

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field
  • 6+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices
  • Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at component/product level
  • Active U.S. Secret or TS clearance (ability to maintain clearance)
  • Ability to travel 10% - 40% of the time (variable by program)
  • Ability to relocate to Reston, VA if not local
