About the role

Senior Product Quality Engineer responsible for defining, developing, and executing processes to deliver high-quality missile programs. Focus on early engagement with design teams, meeting quality requirements, and evaluating product health & performance throughout the lifecycle. Requires missile/product development, metrology, and continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product development and production for missile programs using quality-focused processes (drawing/work instruction reviews, quality planning, inspection, acceptance test performance management, end-of-line metrics, verification/validation/qualification of processes and parts, sub-assemblies, and the vehicle)
  • Drive clarity & resolution for production ambiguities related to product maturity, process stability, and field performance
  • Champion the transition from NPI to sustainable, high-rate manufacturing, supply chain, and deployment support
  • Own the elimination of product risk to improve reliability across the product lifecycle
  • Ensure execution of product and process requirements; define and improve such requirements
  • Lead RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action) and MRB activities and review action effectiveness
  • Lead product health data analysis and establish metrics to measure quality and predictors of quality performance
  • Support continuous improvement of the Quality Management System and required documentation
  • Develop an overall quality plan (APQP-like) for missile projects; leverage/direct resources to deliver quality through the development cycle; define qualification of internal/external manufacturing processes including measurement methods, PPAP/FAI, inspection/test protocols, and acceptance test plans for missile programs; lead transition from engineering qualification to manufacturing variance testing
  • Lead product health data analysis and improvement activities for missile projects
  • Matrix lead supplier quality engineers supporting design/development activities with suppliers for Missile programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field
  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality on missiles or high-velocity vehicle systems
  • Working knowledge of design review and quality management of missile systems, PCBA, harnessing, avionics, systems integration, composites/control surfaces, propulsion, and lethality systems
  • Experience driving product quality and performance requirements to test/measurement system development and optimization; knowledge of missile storage and maintenance processes
  • Experience partnering with Reliability Engineering, chief engineers, architects, manufacturing engineering, and customer-facing teams
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, APQP, PPAP elements (MSA, GD&T)
  • Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical manufacturing processes; application of industry standards and best practices
  • Strong ownership mindset to drive projects from start to finish
  • Analytical skills for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools (MatLab, JMP, MiniTab)
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance
