Forward Deployed Engineer
About the role
Forward Deployed Engineer role at Aravolta, a YC-backed company building software to monitor, control, and optimize data centers. You will deploy Aravolta on-site with customers, build integrations, troubleshoot, and contribute to product roadmap. This is a hands-on engineering role involving production code, not a pure support position.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure Aravolta at customer sites, working hands-on with their infrastructure and operations teams
- Build custom integrations, data pipelines, and automation workflows tailored to each customer's environment
- Troubleshoot complex issues across networking, device communication, and telemetry collection
- Translate customer requirements into actionable feature requests and contribute directly to our core product
- Develop internal tooling, scripts, and documentation to accelerate future deployments
Qualifications
- 3+ years of software engineering experience
- High agency, high ownership
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience working directly with customers or in client-facing technical roles
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls)
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Willingness to travel to customer sites (up to 30–50%)
