About the role
Software Engineering Intern at Unbound, a YC-backed startup building governance and security for AI coding agents. Internship focused on delivering real features across the stack, collaborating with founders, and gaining production experience.
Responsibilities
- Ship real features from design through deployment in production
- Work across the stack (agent discovery, LLM gateway, runtime policy engine) touching Python, Next.js, Kubernetes, and cloud infra
- Work with founders directly and participate in customer calls and roadmap discussions
- Identify gaps and take ownership to fill them
- Build in AI security by understanding AI agent operation and implementing guardrails
Qualifications
- You can ship. You've built and deployed something: a side project, a class project, a startup, open source.
- You're comfortable with ambiguity. We’ll give you a problem, not a spec.
- You code with AI tools and stay in control. You understand what the code does and can debug it when it breaks.
- You're curious about security, devtools, or infrastructure.
- You want to understand how the whole system works, not just your piece of it.
