About the role

Lead and manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects at SpaceX’s Rocket Development Facility in McGregor, TX, with responsibilities spanning design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and site safety for high-power aerospace/industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project team, consulting engineers, and contractors throughout the entire mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process
  • Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial projects
  • Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
  • Coordinate with the electrical utility provider on design and engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and internal stakeholders
  • Track and approve contractor invoicing
  • Ensure contractors adhere to site safety standards and OSHA requirements
  • Manage night shift and early morning contractors as project needs dictate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management with 3+ years of experience working in the field on construction projects, or 7+ years of equivalent professional experience in construction, engineering, or facilities management in lieu of a degree
