About the role

Backend-focused role building scalable Python services and APIs for Evertune's AI-native product experiences, collaborating with product, design, and frontend to translate complex requirements into reliable, scalable systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own and build key backend systems that power Evertune’s product experience
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and application logic in Python
  • Ship product-facing backend features that support customer workflows, insights, and AI-driven experiences
  • Design resilient APIs, optimize backend performance, and improve system reliability as product usage grows
  • Integrate and test third-party APIs, including LLM providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering to turn complex requirements into clean, reliable systems
  • Model and manage data in ways that support evolving product needs and scalable application development
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues across backend services, integrations, and production systems
  • Influence backend architecture and technical decisions that help the team move quickly and sustainably
  • Contribute to a team culture that values speed, craft, ownership, and candor

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience building and shipping production software for user-facing or B2B products, with substantial depth in backend engineering
  • Experience building scalable backend systems in Python or similar languages, with Python highly preferred
  • Strong fundamentals in system design, data modeling, testing, debugging, and performance optimization
  • Track record of building reliable product-facing services and integrations that directly support customer workflows
  • Comfortable working across APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD
  • Strong product instinct and a collaborative approach to working with product, design, and frontend engineers
  • AI-forward and actively using AI tools / LLMs to improve speed, quality, and engineering leverage
  • Strong communication skills, technical judgment, and comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment
