About the role

Ziina is looking for a Backend Engineer to join the team in Dubai to build scalable, reliable software and help shape the engineering culture while delivering high-quality products for users.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product, design, operations, and engineering teams to determine valuable features and user experience
  • Own and ship end-to-end reliable, scalable, and maintainable software that protects users’ funds, from design to monitoring
  • Design and build a cloud-native platform focusing on monitoring, observability, security, scalability, elasticity, and testing
  • Improve CI/CD workflows to reduce time-to-market for new features
  • Help shape engineering culture by introducing good practices and knowledge-sharing

Qualifications

  • 3+ years developing software (preferred)
  • Experience with systems that handle money (preferred)
  • Experience with Node.js, GraphQL, Postgres, ElasticSearch, or Kafka (preferred)
  • Experience shipping and maintaining complex backends (preferred)
  • Be an owner and a team player
  • Be curious and eager to grow
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to relocate to the UAE (if not already located there)
