About the role
Oversee structural contractors and crews building the Memphis Data Center infrastructure, including foundations, slabs, pile systems, structural steel, equipment pads, seismic bracing, and heavy support structures on a night shift basis.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate structural installations during night shift hours, including foundations, formwork, rebar placement, concrete pouring and finishing, structural steel erection, embeds, equipment supports, and seismic/wind-resistant systems for SpaceXSI Data Centers.
- Manage and schedule structural contractors, subcontractors, and on-site crews to deliver project milestones on time and to SpaceXSI's quality standards.
- Ensure all contractors adhere to structural scope, delivering high-integrity foundations and building frameworks for heavy electrical and mechanical loads.
- Monitor nightly progress with detailed logs, red-line drawings, and as-built documentation for all structural elements.
- Develop and enforce aggressive construction schedules within budget; maintain project timeline.
- Champion and enforce SpaceXSI safety program, fostering a zero-incident culture around excavations, heavy rigging, elevated steel, and concrete operations during night hours.
- Lead, train, and supervise foremen and structural crews, promoting teamwork and accountability.
- Resolve on-site challenges (material delays, sequencing issues, coordination with civil/electrical/mechanical trades) with focus on structural integrity and code compliance.
- Conduct night-shift site inspections to verify compliance with regulations, codes, safety protocols, and SpaceXSI standards.
- Prepare and present progress reports, construction metrics, and risk updates to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- 3+ years managing structural construction teams
- 3+ years direct hands-on structural experience (foundations, forming/rebar, steel erection, heavy supports)
- High school diploma or equivalency
