About the role

Role focused on owning the analytical foundation for global compute markets, including pricing, economics of GPU commitments, provider diligence, and capital allocation. Sits at intersection of infrastructure, finance, and AI systems to shape Prime Intellect’s compute strategy and products.

Responsibilities

  • Compute Economics - Build and own financial models that price our compute supply: per-cluster economics, contract structures, hardware generation comparisons, geographic and provider differentials
  • Model the economics of every meaningful supply decision — reserved vs. spot tradeoffs, term length, commitment level, hardware generation, provider mix, geography
  • Own margin architecture: margin by workload, customer, product, and contract, so we always know what's actually profitable and where the leverage is
  • Model the long-term P&L consequences of today's supply bets under multiple demand and pricing scenarios
  • Strategic Bets & Capital Allocation - Partner with leadership on decisions about providers, hardware generations, geographies, and scaling; build financial frameworks for ambiguous strategic questions; own long-range plan and capital allocation across compute, headcount, and product investment
  • Provider Engagement & Diligence - Engage with neoclouds, hyperscalers, and providers on economic and technical diligence; run financial due diligence for supply qualification; translate technical performance into commercial recommendations; build repeatable analyses for evaluating new entrants
  • Market Intelligence - Track pricing, availability, and provider dynamics; develop Prime Intellect’s view of the global compute market; inform market positioning on when to commit, where to hold flexibility, and geographic focus
  • Cross-functional Partnership - Collaborate with Strategic Finance on P&L implications, Engineering on performance characteristics, Sales and Product on pricing strategy; prepare board-ready analyses

Qualifications

  • 4–7+ years in roles combining financial rigor with strategic or operational engagement (e.g., investment banking, private equity, growth equity with infrastructure/tech exposure; quantitative/strategist roles at hedge funds or trading firms; infrastructure investing or strategic finance at high-growth cloud/AI infrastructure companies)
  • Exceptional modeling and analytical skills (self-built models that reflect business operations)
  • Genuine technical curiosity about GPU architectures, networking, cluster performance, and compute economics
  • Strong commercial and strategic judgment; finance as decision-enabler, not just analysis
  • Comfort engaging with vendors, partners, and senior provider counterparts
  • Ability to operate across registers: rigorous modeling, leadership briefings, and diligence with senior counterparts
  • High ownership and initiative; AI-native approach using LLMs, automation, and programmatic tools
