About the role

Western Aircraft offers an FAA-certified Aircraft Structures Internship under SkillBridge for transitioning military service members during the last 180 days of active duty. Interns gain hands-on experience in structural inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of general aviation aircraft in a FAA Repair Station, with potential evaluation for full-time opportunities upon completion.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft
  • Performs structural repairs and modifications
  • Ensures proper care of customer property through all phases of work
  • Accurately completes required paperwork and work order details in Corridor
  • Continuously keeps work area clean and organized
  • Understands and follows safety procedures and utilizes support equipment in a safe manner to accomplish work
  • Performs other duties as directed

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in general / military aviation required
  • Minimum two (2) years’ performing structural repairs and modifications required
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude, professional appearance, and demeanor
  • Airframe certification preferred
